We are deciding between taking a train from Barcelona to Valencia for a couple beach days before ending up in Madrid, or flying Barcelona to Granada and returning to Madrid by train.
Re: Barcelona or Valencia for night life. Been to both a few times but problem in August Spanish cities sort of shut down. Nightlife better in Barcelona but seriously best city is MADRID wicked buzzy place but you won't sleep much. But ridiculously hot in summer and i think that shuts down in August too.
